Business Collaborator Sync streamlines the transfer of files and their attributes (metadata) between different Business Collaborator servers, helping support information management processes such as ISO 19650 whilst reducing risk and in efficiencies in handover.
Efficiently and securely transfer larger numbers of documents and their data from one server to another
Removes the need to
manually handle and transform data
Supports direct transfers between servers, maximising speed and minimising the impact on your internet connection
Sync allows users to visually define the transfer rules between the servers using an ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) process for direct server to server transfer, which can be activated by a user on the move via any internet connected device.
The transfer between servers is fully captured in perpetuity within the audit trail.
Sync eliminates the following manual file transfer problems:
- Data accuracy and consistency. Sync ensures the transfer of data is processed according to the rules defined.
- Slow or throttled internet connections. Sync transfers data directly from server to server.
- Manually manipulating spreadsheets of data and attributes. Sync allows you to define transformation rules that can be repeated reliably.
- Validation of a transfer doesn’t always highlight mistakes. Sync validates the transfer automatically and provides a detailed report.

Without Sync this manual process can consume large portions of a Document Controller’s time and reduce the efficiency of a project.
The release brings the following major features to Sync:
- Publish documents from:
- A Source Server to a Destination Server.
- A Source Space to a Destination Space (on the same Server).
- Define a Connector between a Source Server/Space to a Destination Server/ Space.
- Define mappings between Source and Destination metadata values.
- Share a Connector with other users.
Publishing Documents
The Publish process harnesses the secure Business Collaborator REST API to transfer files directly between servers via the Internet. Files are not transferred via the user’s device or broadband connection.
Define a Connector
A Sync Connector can be defined between the source and the destination servers. Once defined the Connector may be used in perpetuity to consistently transfer file and metadata between the servers.
Define mappings between Source and Destination
The Publish process harnesses the secure Business Collaborator REST API to transfer files directly between servers via the Internet. Files are not transferred via the user’s device or broadband connection.
